DENOMINATION: I.g.t. Emilia rosato frizzante.

VINEYARD LOCATION: Vineyards of the Casatico Estate.

THE VINEYARD: Exposed to the west, the vineyard is situated at an altitude between 220 and 240 above SL, exposed to the west. Density is 4000 plants per hectare. The soil is clayey and medium pebbly.

HARVESTING: The grapes are hand-picked in small boxes, between the last week of September and the first week of October.

PRODUCTION: 9/10 MT of grapes per hectare (about 3.6/4.0 MT/acre).

GRAPE BLEND: 60% Barbera, 40% Bonarda.

WINEMAKING: The intact grapes are fed into press through a funnel under liquid nitrogen sublimation creating a vacuum; after 4 hours maceration the grapes undergo soft pressing with a yield of 40%. The alcoholic fermentation lasts between 10 and 12 days at the end of which period the wine undergoes refermentation in sealed tank.

AGEING: 4/5 months in stainless steel tanks then one month in the bottle.

FOOD PAIRING: This is a fresh, very fruity wine with a slight acidic tang and so it is excellent served as an aperitif but can successfully be combined with the typical cold meats of the Emilia region, egg pasta first course dishes and seafood dishes.


  • Colour: bright hues of rose and lilac.
  • Aroma: fruity with hints of bread crust.
  • Flavour: very elegant, with a slight acidic tang but soft in the mouth.

PRODUCTION: Between a minimum of 25000 bottles and a maximum of 35000 depending on the vintage.
